NEWBOLD vs I. & G. N. RAILWAY
The turkey case of C. D. Newbold vs I. & G.
N. Railway on trial in Judge Dashiell's court, resulted in a judgment for $11.50
in favor of the plaintiff. The nature of the suit was to recover damages
in the above amount against the road for the killing of about 15 turkeys that
were picking up loose grains on defendant's tracks. While fowls were thus
absorbed in an effort to get all the corn an engine came along and caught them.
