-----
Husband Had Gone To Meet Train --
Negro Is In Jail.
-----
Sunday morning at 12:30 Ed Dare, a negro was placed in jail and a charge of
assault filed against him. Dare was discovered in the room of Mrs. H. C.
Wells at the Commercial hotel. Mrs. Wells awoke as the negro took hold of
her and her screams aroused the occupants of the hotel. Mr. Wells, who had
gone to meet a train, returned at this time and the negro was captured before he
could make his escape. The culprit was taken to jail by Wells and Caton.
Dare has been employed at the Commercial as
a porter for sometime. He was recently in the courts on a minor charge.
