Temple,Texas,Sept.23.--There is considerable talk of a lively contest for the
democratic congressional nomination in the 11th district next year. The
district consists of McLennan, Falls, Bell, Coryell and Hamilton counties, a
mixture of part of the old 7th and 8th districts, and has been represented by
Hon. R. L. Henry of Waco, who will be a candidate to succeed himself. His
possible opponents are said to be Hon. W. W. Blair of Temple and Judge Sam R.
Scott of Marlin. Neither of these gentlemen have as yet announced their
real intentions in the matter, but developments are expected within the next ten
days. Congressman Henry is generally conceded to have made a good record
and will not give up without a record breaking fight.
