MARLIN STOCK WINS FIRST PRIZES.
-----
At a
recent horse and mule show at Eddy, Chas Whitaker of Cego easily won the first
premium on the best pair of mules, in competition with the best mules in Falls,
McLennan and Bell counties. They were 4/s and 5/s, black mare mules and
bought of Conyers the Marlin horse and mule man. A single driving horse
sold by Conyers won first prize in the horse department. Conyers has
handled quite a lot of the best horses and mules in the state since he opened
business. Stock sold by him has won first at Pecos Valley, Eddy, New
Mexico, Colorado City, Waxahachie, Bryan, College Station, Rosebud, Waco,
Navasota and Ft. Worth. Conyers himself don't follow the show business
with his stock. He buys the best that the price will get. He knows
the entire horse producing country and gets many of the best ones. Still
he says he has never sold a horse for more than $400 and some less price horses
that has sold have won first prize where there were some $500 to $1000 entries.
This easily shows that Marlin is the place to buy a horse or or mule worth the
money.
