MARLIN SALOON ROBBED.
-----
Bud Roberts Charged With Theft
of $30.00.
-----
Bud Roberts was arrested Friday afternoon by City Marshal Stallworth on a charge
of stealing $30 from the saloon of John Murrin.
The money was in a sack and there was $20 in silver and two five dollar bills.
The sack was kept behind the bar for change and when Mr. Murrin looked for the
sack about twelve o'clock, it was missing.
Suspicion pointed to RNd he was taken in charge and searched. $1430 was
found on his person, some of which was identified by Murrin and his bar keeper,
Henry Ethridge.
It is believe that if Roberts is guilty that he had a confederate.
Roberts is the same man without feet who is well known around Marlin. He
recently completed a service in the county jail on a charge of stealing money
from a store at Stranger. He is in jail and denies his guilt.
