Marlin Made Brick in Demand.
-----
The Marlin Pressed Brick works is an institution that possibly few people have
information of its extent. Mr. Branson states that he has shipped about
300 cars of brick this year and that the demand is brisk all the time.
He uses the dry pressing machine, which
presses the dirt dry, not a drop of water being used. The brick made in
this way from Marlin dirt are superior to any that are made in the old style way
and that accounts, for the heavy demand for Marlin made brick.
There are quite a number of brick plants
using the dry pressing method in Texas, but there are few localities that have
so far gained the reputation for superior brick that Marlin enjoys. This
is due in a large measure to the character of the soil here which contains the
proper proportions of the proper kind of dirts to make it highly valuable for
brick making.
