-------
Marlin Girl Wins High Honors.
-----
It is a source of
pleasure to her many friends in Marlin to learn that Miss Nettie Bykowski will
this year be valedictorian of the graduating class at the seminary of Miss
Metcalf at Tarrytown-on-the Hudson, New York.
The honor comes as a reward (most of this
paragrah missing)....
class and is quite a distinction, as there were many other bright young ladies
striving for the same object.
Marlin has indeed cause to feel a pride
that one of her young ladies is thus to be honored, and doubly so as that honor
is gained by merit and that alone, over competitors from all parts of the union.
The school will be out on June 10 when Miss
Nettie will be joined by her brother, Harry, who is a student at Columbia
university, New York, and they will visit the Jamestown exposition, Detroit and
New Orleans before returning home.
