INJUNCTION IS INVOKED.
-----
New Plan Adopted to Suppress
Disorderly Houses.
-----
For several months County Attorney Connally has had pending in the county court
criminal prosecutions against some white women at Rosebud who are alleged to be
conducting disorderly houses in that town. His prosecutions have only been
partially successful in the criminal court.
Now, however, the county attorney has
adopted a plan that will probably produce more tangible results, at least for
the present, as Sheriff Poole has closed the offending places up by servin writs
of injunction, issued at the instance of Mr. Connally and granted by Judge Scott
at Waco.
The writs are made returnable to the
January term of the district court in Marlin. They were restraining,
temporarily pending final hearing, Lena Moore and Margaret Welsch from operating
or conducing disorderly houses.
