Court Finds County Not Subject
To Fee Bills.

Ordered by the court that the resignation of W. M. Martin, justice of the peace,
Precinct No. 8, be and is hereby accepted and B. E. Clark appointed to fill out
his unexpired term.
Ordered by the court that the report of G.
M. Yates, manager of the county poor farm, be and is hereby approved.
Coming on to be heard the guestion as to
whether county officers of Falls county are under the operation of the fee bill
as regrds the maximum amount of fees to be received by them, and the law being
investigated and discussed, the court is of the opinion that said officers are
not under the operation of the fee bills, so far as the maximum amounts received
by them are concerned, and it is so ordered and held by the court.
Ordered by the court that Mrs. Heckel be
and is hereby allowed $5.00 per month. Also Caroline Neton, $3.00, payable
to W. Y. Atkins, beginning Dec. 1, 1907; also Mollie Ables $5.00 per month,
payable to John Hunter, beginning Dec. 1, 1907.
Ordered by the court that two
commissioners, J. J. Fulton and T. E. Battle, be and are hereby appointed a
committee to let contract for driving piling in the Brazos river to protect the
Rockdam and turnpike bridges.
Ordered by the court that Wm. Gameson be
and is hereby allowed $2.43 on county's portion of taxes as errors in
assessments.
Ordered by the court that Saturday, Nov.
30, be and is hereby set apart as a special session of this court, the purpose
of which will be to receive bids for the hiring of county convicts for the year
1908, contract to begin Feb. 20, 1908. It is further ordered that this
order be published as a notice to the public.
