Call on Neill to Resign.
-----
Some of the Harris county farmers, members of the Farmers' Union, are wroth at
the fact that State President D. J. Neill is an honorary member of the Railroad
Managers' Association.
In a stirring resolution introduced and
passed at their recent meeting, President Neill is said to have been called on
to resign either his position as state executive of the Farmers' Union or his
honorary position with the railroad managers.
The honorary position was regarded by those
present in the light of an entangling alliance, and the reason given for the
passing of the resolution was that no man could serve two masters.
In the minds of the members of the body the
interests of the railroads and those of the farmers were so inimical that terms
of friendship with the roads on the part of the officers were looked upon as
evidence of lukewarmness toward the interests of the union.--
