9 a.m. by the district grand master, Rev. S. J. Dixon. Quite a large
delegation is here and much work is being done for the advancement of the race

has everything necessary to make it pleasant for the delegation. The

meet in the city of Rockdale. The same was adopted. The Grand Lodge then
took recess for noon. At 2 p.m. the delegates reassembled and got down to
work. Rev. A. L. Sledge of Chappell Hill was directed by the district G.
M. to conduct the memorial services. Rev. Sledge conducted the divine
service. The following deaths were reported for the year:

remarks were made by the following members; H. Williams, Mrs. Augusta Pettigrew,

proper committee.

the Grand Lodge: Prof. A. Ragland, Mrs. C. L. Humber and W. A. Redwine.
The Grand Lodge took recess till 8 p.m.
Promptly at 8 o'clock the delegates and

by the local committee. Music by the choir; invocation by Rev. Jackson;
welcome address by L. S. Simmons. The address was indeed an able one.
The response by D. D. Evans was highly received. Welcome address on behalf
of local lodge by J. H. Childs; resone (sic) by Mrs. Ware of Tyler. Both
were well received. Miss Augusta Pettigrew read a paper which was strong
and logical. The annual sermon was then preached by Rev. D. F. Taylor of
Tyler. The sermon showed that much preparation had been made.
A collection of $11.00 was then taken.
