The musical club
met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. A. O. Bowdon at the residence of Mrs. W. J.
Finks. The guests were Miss Barthol of Weatherford and Miss McLendon of Marlin.
The roll call was responded to with an interesting review of the
characteristics of musicians. The lesson on life of Mozart was led by Miss
Sallie Peyton. Miss Peyton read a "story of a melody" which was very
interesting.
Mozart's minuet, composed by the author at the age of five years. was played
by Mrs. J. W. Torbett. "Dreamland," a beautiful song by Miss Bartlett, was a
feature of the program.
An invitation from Miss Nora Robinson to the club to meet with her at some
future time was received and accepted with thanks.
Mesdames Bowdon and Levi were appointed a committed to meet with committees
of other clubs to arrange for meeting of district federation.
The hostess served refreshment in three courses -- oyster cocktail, salad
course and cream and cake.
The next meeting will be with Mrs. F. M. Burkhead.
