Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Connor, a report of whose wedding appears in this issue,
departed at 12:50 today for their in Collin county. They were showered with
copious quantities of rice as they boarded the car and a evidence of old shoes
were in evidence about the baggage of the happy couple.

Mr. Alphonzo Steele of Mexia, is visiting his son, H. H. Steel, in Marlin. Mr.
Steele, Sr., is one of Limestone county's oldest and most honored citizens,
having resided in that county more than sixty years. He is a veteran of the
Mexican war and is now 87 years of age, but his general health and vitality is
as good as most men twenty years younger.

SCHOLASTIC CENUS

County Superintendent Eddins has completed the rolls of the children within
scholastic age for the years 1905 - 6.
The enrollment is as follows:
Mooreville independent district, 227; Lott independent district, 377; Rosebud
independent district, 401; Durango independent district, 116; Marlin independent
district, 747. This is an increaseof two hundred over last year. The increase is
estimated as follows: Mooreville, 5; Lott, 29; Rosebud, 33; Marlin, 60; and over
the county 85.

Edgar, son of E. P. Huchings, suffered a bad wound Wednesday afternoon by
getting his hand caught in a job press while feeding it. The hand was mashed
severely but no bones were broken.

HE ASKS JUDGE FOR DIVORCE

Waco, Texas, June 14. ---- Judge Sam R. Scott has received a letter form a
German resident of Falls county in which the Falls county man files his own
applicaton for divorce. It is an unusual document, and the writer pleads with
"the court" to grant the divorce at once, appearing to think that no legal
formalities were necessary but that the judge was empowered to act as he chose
and on the ex patte presentation of the case.
