TURNER'S RECORD AT KANSAS CITY.
W. W. Turner of Marlin, is taking an important part in the greatest American
Handicap shoot at Kansas City. He has classed high in markmanship all
along and on Wednesday he bested his own record, being one of the six Texans to
make twelve straights.
The following report appears in the state
papers:
Kansas City, Mo., April 2 -- in the Grand
American Handicap there were 493 entries and only the eighth round was finished
today. Of the 147 straights left, Texas has the honor of six, Burns and
Tucker of Brenham, Pearson of Austin, Atchison of Giddings, Turner of Marlin and
Bicknell of Fort Worth.
