The Marlin Democrat
Fifteenth Year Number 20
Marlin, Texas, Thursday, July 14, 1904
EXPRESS THANKS TO PUBLIC.
The Merchants Gift Library has been
removed to the Public Library room, over First National bank, where it has been
arranged in new cases and shows up nicely. The association is doubly grateful
for this evinence of friendliness from the public as it not only places valuable
books in the library but assures them that their labor is appreciated and that
the public wants a library. Everyone is invited to call and examine the books
and to become members of the organization.
In behalf of the Public Library association we desire
to thank the people of Marlin and vicinity for their support and aid by which
this association won the Merchant's Gift Library. Especially would we
thank the merchants for their generous gift. We hope to make this award
benefit every man, woman and child in Marlin, and we hope that every citizen who
desires a better Marlin, a cleaner town, a higher education, will help to build
up a library that we can all be proud of.

MRS. B. C. NETTLES, Sec.
