MARLIN GETS SUMMER NORMAL
-----
The Falls County Teachers' In-
stitute Decides Saturday.
-----
Faculty is Also Chosen.
-----
The Falls county Teachers Institute in session Saturday last selected Marlin as
the place for holding the summer normal.
The normal will begin on June 26 and last
until July 31.
Prof. C. P. Hudson of Marlin, was chosen
conductor, and W. A. Holland of McClanahan, and W. E. Whitesides, of Mooreville,
were chosen as the other members of the faculty.
An effort will be made to induce teachers
from other counties to attend this normal and it is the idea to make the normal
a permanent institution.
A feature of the Institute was the presence
of Hon. Arthur Lefevre of Austin, who is state superintendent of public
instruction. Mr. Lefevre addressed the Institute on the subject "Needed
reforms in the state school laws." The lecture was very interesting.
The other numbers on the program,
previously published, were filled with a few exceptions.
