FINANCIAL STATEMENT.
The following has been given out, by
B. C. Nettles, showing the proceeds and application thereof, of the benefit
concert recently given at the court house, in which the public schools and fire
department each received half:
Door receipts: $80.40
Disbursements: Mr. Johnson and expenses, $10.10;
programs and advertising, $4.50: orchestra, piano tuning and moving, $8.25;
music. flags, etc., $7.88; total expenses, $30.70, leaving the net proceeds at
$49.70 of which $24.35 was given to the public school library and $54.35 to the
fire department.
In this connection Chief Nettles says: "In behalf of
the fire boys, I wish to thank Misses Owen and Nettles and Mr. W. E. Thrash for
their kindness and hard work in getting up the concert and each one who so
kindly aided in making it the great success that it was; the substantial aid it
rendered the fire department was much needed and highly appreciated."
