STATE CONVENTION.
The State Democratic Convention met in Galveston Tuesday. There is no
contest over any of the State offices as the following ticket has been already
nominated by the primaries:
For Governor, S. W. T.
Lanham, of Weatherford.
For Lt. Governor, Geo. D. Neal
of Navasota.
For Attorney General, Chas. K. Bell of Ft. Worth.
Railroad Commissioner, O. B. Colquit, of Terrell.
For Judge Court Criminal Appeals, W. L. Davidson, Georgetown.
Land Commissioner, J. J. Terrell, of Decatur.
For Comptroller, R. M. Love, Mexia.
For Treasurer, Jno. H. Robbins of Vernon.
For State Supt. of Public Instruction, Arthur Lefevre of Austin.
For Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, W. A. Williams of Crockett.
Unless there is a contest over the platform there will be but one before the
convention, and that will be the one for State Chairman. The candidates
are the present chairman, J. B. Wells, and J. E. Cockrell, of Dallas. The
contest between these gentlemen is fast and furious.
