SHORT NEWS NOTES.
An earthquake in Las
Alimos, Cal., wrecked many brick buildings and did considerable other damage.
Troops have been ordered to the coal fields
in the Shenandoah Valley.
It is said that the smart sets of London
are taking no interest in the coronation ceremonies of King Edward and that the
attendance will be very small.
Senator Tillman has notified Charleston
that if the people send a certain man to the state senate that he will withdraw
his support from Charleston at Washington. It remains to be seen whether
Charleston or Tillman is the largest.
