It's Cry for Water Prevents a Whole
Family From Being Killed by
Chloroform.
-----
Rosebud, Texas, March
26.--J.W. Hamilton, living about a mile east of town, came in this morning and
made known the fact that some one had tried to chloroform his entire family.
The facts are about as follows. About
1:30 a.m. one of the children began crying for water. Mrs. Hamilton was
awakened, attempted to get up, but found herself powerless to move, whereupon
she began calling to Mr. Hamilton, who was awakened and after several efforts
made his way to the door and upon opening same the room was immediatley cleared
of the drug fumes and the family at once recovered
It was found that the servants sleeping in
the kitchen were also under the influence of the drug. Only a few moments
more and all would have succumbed to it's poisonous ordor. Thus the
child's thirst save the family.
The constable has been at work on the case
today, but to date no developments have been made.
