REPUBLICAN CONVENTION
FOR THIS CONGRESSIONAL
DISTRICT

The republicans convention for this
congressional district convened at McGregor Saturday in pursuance to a call of
Chairman D. R. Emerson. The convention was organized by electing T. J. Darling
of Temple, Chairman and S. E. Collins of Marlin as secretary, Chas. A. Boynton
of Waco and Jesse Washington of Marlin were elected delegates to the national
convention at Chicago, with E. R. Emerson and Dr. Holland as alternates.
Resolutions were adopted approving the administration of President Roosevelt and
endorsing Cecil A. Lyon for National committeeman. The only contest in the
convention was from McLennan county and the delegation favorable to Lyon was
seated.
