BLANKET PRIMARY ORDERED.
The democratic executive committee
for this congressional district met in Waco Tuesday and ordered a blanket
primary for the entire district, to be held on Saturday, July 9, for the purpose
of nominating a congressman from this district.
There were present: O. L. Stribbling, chairman; T. G.
Fountain of Falls county, W. W. Hair of Bell county, Richard Jurney of McLennan
county, and John L. Spurlin (by proxy) of Hamilton county.
It was ordered that the man receiving the highest
number of votes be declared the nominee, the executive committee to meet in Waco
at 10 o'clock a. m. on July 23 to canvass the returns and the convention to
elect a chairman and a committee to meet at 2 p. m. on the same day.
The senatorial committee will also order a blanket
primary which does away with nominating conventions in so far as the districts
in which Falls county is located, are concerned.
