OPENING OF THE GRAND.
The work
of completing the Grand Opera House is being pushed with all rapidity possible
and only a comparatively small amount of work remains yet to be done. This
is an institution in which all are interested as it is a necessary attraction to
any town that desires to keep up with the procession and especially to a health
and pleasure resort like Marlin, with its great possibilities.
The Grand will be formally opened on
Thursday night Oct. 2nd when "Pickings from Puck" will be presented. This
is one of the best companies coming to Texas. Nearly all the seats have
been previously subscribed for at $2.50 each and the prospects are that the
opening will witness a very large crowd.
A Grand Ball will be given by Manager
Harrison, of the Arlington, in honor of the opening of the Opera House.
Music will b(e) brought from Waco for the occasion.
