NIENAST RESIDENCE BURNED.
The two
story residence of Herman Nienast was destroyed by fire about 10:30 Friday
night.
The house
was located out on the Groesbeeck road half a mile beyond the residence of Judge
Goodrich. It was an old timer and burned very rapidly.
It was at
this place that a very distressing accident occurred about a year ago when a
relative of Mr. Nienast was burned to death, her clothing catching from a
lighted match which she had dropped on the floor.
In the
fire last night but little of the furniture and household effects were saved, as
the fire burned very rapidly.
The fire
being out of the city limits the department could do nothing toward
extinguishing the flames. They started out but turned back after locating
it.
