Recovers Damages

The jury in
the case of Mrs. Connie Hawkins et al vs I & G N railway company for damages
brought in a verdict for the plaintiff, fixing the damages at $750. The suit
was brought to recover damages from the defendant on account of the death of
plaintiff's son, Willie King which resulted from injuries received by falling
under a piece of sewer pipe that the school boys were rolling down the sloping
school grounds, the petition alleging that the defendants left said sewer pipe
on the grounds. The case was given the jury Friday afternoon. The amount sued
for was $20,000.
