COMMENDS THE MOVEMENT.

Says Falls County Has Fine Fruit
Lands.
President L. E. Allen of the business
league has received the following letter from Mr. Stanley H. Watson relative to
the movement to secure fruit trees for Falls county farmers:
Mr. WATSONS LETTER
DEAR SIR: - I beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor
of June 30th with a marked copy of the Marlin paper, concerning the intention of
your business league to purchase a large quanity of peach trees to be planted in
Falls county.
I am sure that you are on the right track. I have
visited your county several times and noted the conditions existing there and I
see no reason why you should not have as successful and prosperous a fruit
growing country as the best parts of eastern Texas. Your soil and climate
are both suited to fruit culture. The fact of the commercial club taking
the lead in this matter will go far toward strengthening the contidence of the
farmers in the proposition. Usually the farmers are given a world of
advice by the business men of the town and but little practical aid. I am
pleased to note that the progressive business men of Marlin are going to tender
their good advice with such practical help as the plan referred to proposes.
If I can be of any service to you in instructing your people what to plant, how
and when to plant it, etc., do not hesitate to command me. Wishing you the
success to which your enterpries entitles you.
Yours very truly,
STANLEY H. WATSON,
Houston, Tex. Industrial Agt.
