MASS MEETING.
The
business men of the city met last night to discuss the future welfare of Marlin.
E T Johnson was elected as chairman and I Z
Harrison as secretary. The object of the meeting as stated by L Z Harrison
was to raise funds to advertise Marlin and the hot water. Several of the
men present discussed Marlin as a winter resort and all came to the general
conclusion that to advertise Marlin would be a great step towards her up
building. Talks were made by B C Nettles, Dr Torbett, C C Chatham, A A
Patrick, T A Cheeves and C T Curry. Mr Chatham in his talk made a motion
that a committee of seven be appointed and together with the directors to form
plans and raise funds to advertise the hot water.
Mr. Nettles then said that the board of
directors woudl meet at the Arlington hotel this afternoon at six o'clock to
appoint the committee and arrange other business.
A motion was then made that the club should
adjourn carried.
