PUBLIC LIBRARY GOES AHEAD.
~~~~~
But The Vote Is Close With School
Library.
The voting for the last week changed up the
leadership in the library contest, the largest vote being recorded in favor of
the Public library, putting that institution in the lead; Considering that
nearly 250,000 votes have been cast, this lead of less than two thousand is not
"so many" and may be dissipated before the end of the present week.
The contest may now be said to be
interesting as the two leading contestants are "neck and neck" and each one
seems determined to win and are hustling for votes in dead earnest.
It will be well for all merchants included
in this contest to remember that all ballots must be reserved, as originally
voted by the voters, until the end of the contest when they will all be counted
by competent judges and the results announced in this paper.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: - After June 1st all
contestants not having 500 votes will be dropped from the list. This is done to
save time and labor in counting them, as it is evident that those who have not
received a total of 500 votes by the above date will not be in the running.
