NEWS FROM KOSSE.
John C. Lewis is sick at his near town with a mild case of smallpox.
F. B. Bratton has six cases of pneumonia in
his family, tow which have been quite serious, but all are better.
A. J. Jennings has had two cases of
pneumonia in his family for the past ten days, and was stricken down himself
Monday.
Isaiah Granger, a desperate negro, wanted
for the murder of the aged couple of white people on the Brazos river near
Reisl, (sic) about two months since, is said to be in hiding in the Little
Brazos country, and occasional reports came to town of his daring robberies,
threats, etc. In nearly every instance these reports have proved to be without
foundation, and Mr. Granger is very likely in some other locality, as the
officers can get no late news concerning him. He is credited with being a
desperately mean negro and he will likely give the officers some trouble before
being taken.--Cyclone.
