Fifteenth Year Number 16
Marlin, Texas, Thursday, June 16, 1904
IKE LOW DISCHARGED.
Ike Low, the negro who was accused of
the murder of McDonald and his wife down the Brazos river more than two years
ago, and who was convicted by a jury and given the death sentence, is a free
man. He was liberated yesterday and at once left the city. His case attracted
much attention, and it looked at one time as though he would pay the death
penalty, but the court of criminal appeals of Texas reversed the case and stated
in the opinion that unless additional evidence could be had Low should not be
convicted. - Waco Times-Herald.
