HARLAN AND
THOMAS
-----
Spoke at Lott Tuesday
Nightto(sic) a Good Crowd
of Voters.
-----
Hon. Cullen F. Thomas and
Hon. Z I Harlan spoke at Lott Tueday (sic) night in the behalf of the candidacy
of Mr. Thomas.
Mr. Thomas came up from Rosebud where he
and Mr. Henry had a joint discussion yesterday and was met at Lott by Messrs.
Harlan and Bartlett.
The people of Lott were anxious for a joint
discussion between the two at this appointment, and Mr. Henry had asked for it
but Mr. Thomas declined on the ground that as he would meet Mr. Henry there at a
later date, it was just not thought necessary to have two joint debates in the
same place. For the same reason Mr. Thomas declined a joint discussion at
all his appointments this week.
Mr. Harlan opened the discussion at Lott in
a speech advocating Mr. Thomas' nomination. He was followed by Mr. Thomas
who made a lengthy speech in his own behalf and his friends say that he made
some votes.
Messrs. Harlan and Thomas will speak at
Chilton tonight and Mr. Henry intended doing so but failed to get a division of
time with Mr. Thomas.
The next joint debate between the two will
be at Reagan Friday night, which is Mr. Henry's appointment.
