EAST TEXAS FRUIT
GROWERS ASSOCIATION.
----------
Geo. S. Cousins has returned from
Jacksonville where he went to attend the meeting of the east Texas fruit growers
association. There were about four hundred in attendance at the meeting, and
through the kind offices of Leroy Trice of the I. & G. N., a delegation of
thirty practical fruit and truck growers will be given free transportation to
California for the purpose of observing the methods of packing and shipping
fruit in use by the growers of that state. By this visit it is expected that
information can be gained in a short time that would require years to learn at
home. Mr. Cousins was requested to go as the representative from this county,
but being unable to do so on account of illness in his family, has designated F.
W. Stallworth as his alternate.
