HE FIRED A FREIGHT CAR.
~~~~~
Hobo Aroused From Sleep On The
Inside.
About 11 o'clock Sunday night some
person on deviltry bent touched a lighted match to some straw in a freight car
on the H. & T. C. tracks, resulting in great damage to the car and badly
frightening a "hobo" peacefully sleeping on the straw on the inside of the car.
Charley Schuh happened to be near the scene and as soon
as the light flashed saw a party run up the alley at a swift speed. It is
believed that this party set the bay on fire. The sole occupant of the car was
sleeping on the other side from where the fire started and awoke just in time to
save his whiskers.
The fire department responded and had the fire out in a
few minutes after water was secured.
