FRAUD CHARGED.

Recount Of The Vote Demanded.
-----
Wednesday the air was thick with rumors of an injunction to restrain the
committee having the counting of the ballots for the ugly man's contest from
further serving in that capacity. In other words, the plan was to remove
them and place some one else in charage of the counting.
This move was inauguarted by the friends of
Capt. Thad Clark, who charged that through the enfluence and power of the coin
of the realm their candidate had been deprived of his true standing in the
contest. Therefore, they proposed to go into the courts and settle the
matter. However, after a caucus they decided to ask a recount, and if it
was granted they would be satisfied.
The Board of Election Commissioners readily
agreed to this and the vote was recounted with the following result:
Fife, 1075.
Clark, 762.
Coleman, 494.
Eppstein, 268.
Reeves, 02.
Martin, 38.
Captain Carter, 30.
Connally, 55
Cheeves, 109.
Curtis, 10
Dupree, 35.
