PLANS OF ENTERTAINMENT
~~~~~
Of District Federation Discussed
In Committee
~~~~~
In response to a call published in this paper a number of the members of the
committees appointed to arrange for the entertainment of the District Federation
of women's clubs met at the residence of Mrs. L. P. Robertson on Friday
afternoon.
The meeting of the Federation will be held in Marlin on
April 19, 20, and 21 and will be attended by some of the most prominent club
women of the state, among them Mesdames E. P. Turner of Dallas, president of the
State Federation, and W. S. banks of Temple, president of the District
Federation.
The ladies organized Friday afternoon by electing Miss
Mildred Frank president and Mrs. B. C. Nettles secretary and treasurer.
The members freely expressed the desire that Marlin fall not behind other cities
in entertaining the Federation and if the enthusiasm exhibited at the initial
meeting is an index, Marlin will measure up to the best of them in this respect.
Various plans were discussed and a number of sub
committees appointed but the details of the entertainment have not been fully
decided upon as yet. However, among the pleasant events for the
entertainment of the Federation will be a matinee musical to be given by the
Musical Club, the only Marlin club federated. The several clubs of the
city will probably give a reception to the members and officers of the
Federation.
The meeting of the joint committee adjourned subject to
the call of the chairman.
