E L Kay is attending court at Marlin this week.
Mr and Mrs Yates are visiting in McClanahan
this week.
The music school at this place, taught by
Mrs. Dr Outz of Kosse closed Monday. The school was a very successful one
and Mrs. Outz has the thanks of all of her pupils for kind efforts to advance
them in music.
Walter Roberts of Alto Springs and Miss
Virgia Bount of this place were married Friday night. Rev D M Brown
officiating. The marriage took place in the road some where between Glade
Chapel church and Rev Brown's residence. The young couple had intended to
marry at church but for some reason they did not. Miss Virgia is one of
our most popular young ladies and Mr. Roberts is to be complimented upon his
success.
The trustees have employed J. B Murphey of
Lott to teach our school another year. Mr. Kennedy having resigned
to-accept the principalship of the Alto Springs school.
The protraced meeting at Glade Chapel
closed Friday night with several additions to the church. The protracted
meeting at this place will begin on Friday night before the second Sunday in
August.
The people of this community will meet
Tuesday August 5, and clean off the grave yard at this place. All who are
interested in same are invited to come and help. Our summer school will
close on that day.
B C Morgan and lady of Odds were visiting
relatives at this place Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs Eugene Magee of Corpus Christi
spent several days here last week visiting relatives here.
Mrs. J J Davis of Lott is visiting here
this week.
Theo Kay and family of Madison county are
visiting here this week.
