A DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON.
----------
Anticipation may be very agreeable,
but participation is certainly more practical end enjoyable - such is the
sentiment expressed of about forty ladies who responded to the invitation of
Mrs. L. P. Robertson on Tuesday afternoon to meet her charming guests - Misses
Threadgill and Krause of Waco and enjoy a game of cards.
After a deluge of two hours surely then nature
conspired with Mrs. Robertson that nothing might be lacking to complete the
pleasure of those who were so fortunate to attend.
The game of six handed euchre was exciting, and
enjoyable to the end.
After scores being counted, it was found that Miss
Jessie McLendon was the winner of first prize, Miss Kessee consolation and Miss
Mollie Dickson of Houston the booby.
The hostess then served most delicious refreshments of
iced fruits, angel cake and fruit punch.
We were reluctant to leave but the hour was growing
late, so thanking Mrs. Robertson and her guests for such a good time, we said
"good bye."
A GUEST.
