Congressional Aspirants Meet
in Joint Discussion.

Waters Pierce Case Discussed.

The congressional
candidates met in joint discussion at Chilton Tuesday night.
Mr. Thomas opened the discussion with a
speech of an hour and fifteen minutes and was followed by Mr. Henry in a speech
of an hour and a half. Thomas closed the discussion with a rejoinder of
fifteen minutes.
The discussion dealt largely with the
Waters Pierce Oil Compromise case the circumstance of which have been sent all
over the county in printed form and with which the reading public is familiar.
There was a good crowd present
including many ladies and respectful attention was given both speakers.
The speakers were introduced by Senator J J
Swann.
Hon. J J Davis had a few remarks at the
close of the debate stating that he would be in Chilton at another time to give
his views on state questions.
