CYCLONE STRIKES NEAR MEXIA.
MEXIA, TEXAS, April 25. - A cyclone
passed three miles northeast of Mexia. The following houses were
demolished: A. C. Shanks, Dr. Bachelor, R. M. Baker, and George Wolf; also a
house at Yeldell, Texas.
Miss Jennie, daughter of A. C. Shanks, was so seriously
hurt that her recovery is doubtful.
Mr. Shanks' family were all more or less hurt, but none
are thought to be seriously so except Miss Jennie.
W. E. Bonner, and daughter, Miss Lillian, of Mexia,
were blown out of a buggy, but escaped injury.
