REPORTS ON THE
COTTON CROP.
----------
A large number of farmers were in the
city Monday attending court and also third trades day. They bring varying
reports as to the condition of the cotton crop. In some localities the
weevil and worm have been at work several days, while in other localities no bad
effects have been experienced as yet. At the worst, as it now looks, Falls
county, as a whole, is going to produce fully twice as much cotton as she did
last year. With the large corn and other feed crops, the people of Falls county
will be in good shape when all the grain is garnered and all the cotton
gathered. Those who can look to a full "smoke house" will, indeed, have no cause
to be "grouchy."
