CHILTON CULLINGS.
Chilton, Jan. 31.--Today the bankrupt stock of general merchandise of R. J.
Ellis was sold by Trustee Bryant for $2575 to the Cooper Grocery company of
Waco. This is about 50 cents on a dollar.
Albert Huffman and Captian (sic) McAlister
were in Waco today to buy machinery for their new gin at this place.
The light rain the past week improved
growing wheat and oats some, a great deal of it having been killed by the
freeze.
Business in town is very dull at present;
everybody waiting for rain.
