CHARGED WITH HOLDUP.
-----
Mexican Arrested At McClanahan.
-----
Sheriff Carlton and Deputies Bates and Tomlinson were called to McClanahan
Thursday night to effect the arrest of a Mexican charged with an attempted hold
up.
The complaining witness is John Adams, son
of J. N. Adams. The young man says that the Mexican drew a "butcher" knife
on him and told him to hand over his money. Instead of complying with the
request the young man took to his heels and eluded the Mexicano.
The arrest was effected with out any
trouble and the prisoner was placed in the county jail. The Mexican says
that he was only playing and that the robbery was never thought of by him.
