THIRTIETH CAVALRY.
At Pat Cleburne hall, Waco, the Thirtieth Texas Calvary association held its
second annual reunion and had a jolly time. The hall was handsomely
decorated with the Confederate colors entwined with the stars and striues.
The visiting veterans were driven over the city by the local Confederate
organization and were given a good time. E. J. Gurley was elected
president; S. M. Strayhorn, vice president; R. G. Pidcocke, secretary and
treasurer, and Gib J. Buck, assistant secretary. Mrs. Caroline Jackson,
wife of Levi Jackson, one of the veteran troopers of the Thirtieth, was elected
mother of the regiment. They adjourned to hold their annual reunion
Wednesday, July 23, next year, in Waco.
