DRANK
CARBOLIC ACID FOR WHISKEY
~~~~~
And passed In Their Checks
In Ten Minutes
~~~~~
Two Polanders, Albert Kawilski and
Martin Sczepanski, are dead as a result of drinking carbolic acid for whiskey at
Bremond Saturday.
The two men had gone to a drug store and purchased a
large bottle of the acid with which to doctor a sick horse. After procuring the
acid they came over to a saloon just over the Falls county line and got some
whiskey of which they drank at the saloon.
Placing a bottle of whiskey in the same pocket with the
acid, they got "dry" again just as they reached Bremond and proceeded to take
another drink, but from the wrong bottle.
All efforts to save the men were futile and they were
both dead in ten minutes.
