A NEW ATTRACTION.
-----
Company Will Establish Resort at
Falls of Brazos.
-----
The Falls of the Brazos is to be made, what nature has evidently intended it
should be, a place for pleasure and recreation seekers, a resort where dull time
can be passed lightly in the innocent enjoyment of the pleasures which nature
and the ingenuity of man assure.
The movement to furnish further attractions
and recreation for citizens and visitors of Marlin has been going steadily on.
It is now announced that a number of our citizens, through Mr. B. C. Nettles,
have secured an option on the land lying adjacent to the Falls in the Brazos on
the east side with the intention of making it the playground of Falls county.
The purpose is to plant out shade trees and
grass along the bluffs, build a club house, and dressing rooms, Dig out a large
swimming pool on top of the rocks, furnish bathing suits and improve the grounds
in such other ways as the club sees fit. There is no place in Centra(l)
Texas that can be made more delightful for outing than can the Falls. The
bathing under the rocks is not surpassed in the state. The fishing is
first class and with a good road connecting it with Marlin it will prove a great
help in giving the people what they have long wanted.
Mr. Nettles secured an option on all the
land necessary to carry ou their plans and in the near future work of improving
the roads and grounds will begin.
