ROSEBUD NEW NOTES
~~~~
(From the News)
~~~~~
The concert given at the Methodist
church Tuesday and Wednesday nights by the Menely Quartette of Chicago. were the
best ever rendered in the city. The vocal numbers were simply fine and those
present enjoyed them splendidly.
The masked ball given at the Willey building Monday
night under the auspices of Rosebud Pleasure club was by far the leading social
event of the season. The spacious building was tilled with happy couples and the
merry dance continued until a late hour.
The directors of the artesian well company met this
week and decided to resume work on the well just as soon as necessary
arrangements could be made. The limit of the company who bad the contract for
completing the well to a depth of 3000 feet has expired, and if they do not make
their guarantee good within the next few weeks, another company will be awarded
the contract for its completion.
Prof. J. K. Strecker of Waco came down Monday night and
met with Rosebud camp Woodmen of the World, the object of his visit being to
exemplify the secret work of the order. A large number of choppers were in
attendance including members of Marlin and Travis camps, and the evening was
exceedingly instructive and entertaining. Light refreshments were served in the
forrest, which were heartily enjoyed by all present.
