A rather peculiar accident occured here a
few days ago. A certain farmer living not far from Lott was in town with a
load of corn and was accompanied by his wife, who went to do some shopping while
he sold his corn. As it was late before he got the corn unloaded he drove
rapidly home. Although he was uneasy all the way back home, feeling that
he had forgot something, he did not realize what it was until he had got and put
up his horses and went to the house and found no supper and no fire. His
wife got a ride out town with his neighbor.--Lott Clarion.
