LOCALS.
The I & G N railway is
arranging for an excursion to Galveston on the occasion of the Grand Neptune
Carnival May 19, 21. Tickets will be on sale at $2.75 for the round trip
May 19, good till May 21.
Mayor Shelton has received a telephone
message from Superintendent Trice of the I. & G. N. that he will arrive in
Marlin Saturday for the purpose of conferring with the committee of the Business
League in regard to the location of the machine shops at Marlin.
Miss Mamie Bratton of Alto Spring, visited
Mrs. Wiley Davis Wednesday.
The Ladies Aid Society of the Christian
Church will serve cream and cake on the lawn in front of the Bethesday bath
house tonight night (sic). All are invited to come out and partake of the
refreshments. Proceeds to go to benefit of the church.
Joe Lester announces in this issue as a
candidate for constable of precinct No. 2, subject to the action of the
democratic party.
M. F. Meeks announces in this issue as a
candidate for justice of the peace of precinct No. 2, subject to the action of
the democratic party.
Chairman John R. Southwell has appointed M
C C Kirsky, chairman of the Bell-Falls voting box and A F Furgurson chairman of
the Lott voting boxes, to fill vacancies caused by resignations.
Miss Jan McNeil of Bellfalls, is in the
city.

seekers who came in from Louisiana to spend a while here: Mrs. Allen
Boykin of Lisbon; Mrs. Allen Boykin of Lisbon; Mrs. Lillie King, Mrs. S. E.
Martin, Homer; Mrs. Wm. Taylor, Miss Lena Taylor of Minden; Miss Temple Martin
of Meridian.
Rev. J. A. Whitehearst and family who have
been visiting in the city for some time hve returned to their in Armarilla.
We have just returned from St. Louis where
we have completed a thorough course in "Guerin's College of Photography," and
are now ready to give the public the benefit of the la(te)st and most scientific
