Miss Mamie Stowers underwent an appendicitis operation in Marlin today.

L. A. Robinson was reported resting well today following an operation at a Marlin hospital.

The Garden Club will meet at 3:30 Friday afternoon with Mrs. Z. I. Harlan.

J. R. Phillips and family of Houston will arrive in Marlin Friday for a visit in the of his father, T. M. Phillips.

The Workers' Council, composed of officers and teachers of the First Baptist Sunday school, mets in regular November session at the church at 7:30 o'clock Friday night.

Lamar Demonstration Club members enjoyed a spread of barbecued meats and other "eats" on the courthouse lawn Thursday evening, featuring grown products.

L. A. Davis, an official of the Missouri Pacific Railway Company, arrives this afternoon for a course of baths and a round at fishing in the waters around Marlin.  He is said to be very successful in the piscatorial art.

Members of the Riesel High school football squad came to Marlin Wednesday afternoon for a workout with the Bulldogs at the high school athletic field.  Practically all of the players on both squads got into the practice scrimmage.

Nancy Lattimore, one of the three girls who lost their lives in Dallas as a result of being burned while celebrating Hallowe'en, was a granddaughter of J. C. Lattimore of Marlin.  Burial took place in Oakwood cemetery today.

Dr. and Mrs. S. S. Munger and the latter's brother, R. E. L. Bailey of Waco, have returned from an extended motor tour through South Texas.  After fishing at Magnolia Beach, they proceeded to Brownsville, thence up the Rio Grande to Laredo and back by way of San Antonio.
