T.K. Barton was greeting friends downtown today after being confined to his
several weeks with illness.

The cotton market closed today three points down from Wednesday's final
quotations, New York's October closing at 6:75.

Judge E. M. Dodson spent Wednesday in Dallas where he went to hear a new trial
motion in a case he tried at a special term of court there some time ago.

Jack Bennett, secretary of the Houston Rotary Club, will be the principal
speaker at the meeting of the Marlin Rotary Club at the Hilton hotel at 12:10
p.m. Friday. He is in Marlin for the hot mineral water baths.

Jury lists for September term of Falls county district court were drawn at the
courhouse in Marlin today by a commission composed of J. J. Gallaher of Marlin,
S. W. Gaines of Chilton and Carter Asbury of Travis.

Troop No. 37 Marlin Boy Scouts meets at 7:15 o'clock tonight in Memorial Cabin,
the meeting having been advanced account of the band concert on the Falls county
courthouse lawn Friday night, states E. J. Sebesta, scoutmaster.
